Trichomonas vaginalis Genome Project
The goal of this project is to complete the genome sequence of the sexually transmitted protozoan parasite, Trichomonas vaginalis, specifically (1) to complete shotgun sequencing of the genome; (2) to generate a high quality assembly of the sequence data; and (3) to provide a high quality automated annotation and analysis of the assembly. Completion of this project will provide the community with a high quality annotated sequence for drug target and vaccine candidate identification, as well as providing a foundation for the development of improved diagnostic tests.
